Intern Job Description

Note: This is an unpaid position

TITLE OF POSITION: EDUCATION RESEARCH ASSISTANT (unpaid)

SUPERVISED BY: Education Specialist

PURPOSE OF JOB: To assist the education staff in developing content for school age, college, family and adult learners. Includes audience development, promotional campaigns, mail list development, Internet research, and research in the archives of this and other National Archives and presidential libraries.

HOURS: 10 hours per week (minimum) for at least three months. Hours include at least one morning per week (9:00am - 11:30am). Several evenings per semester

DUTIES:

SUPERVISION: Kahlil Chism - Education Specialist

COMPENSATION: College credit for students who qualify under their university internship guidelines. Admission to Jimmy Carter Library events, book signings, lectures, concerts, openings. No stipend or salary accompanies this internship.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED:

TRAINING/ORIENTATION PROVIDED:
The majority of the work required involves independent research, reading and writing. Supervision of these tasks, revision of written work, and direction of research themes will be given by the Jimmy Carter Library and Museum staff.

LOCATION OF JOB: The Jimmy Carter Library and Museum, Atlanta, Georgia
