School Tours and Programs
General Tour Information
Reservations for groups of 10+ students must be made in writing at least four weeks prior to your visit.
See the on-line Tour Reservation form to sign up your group.
Docent guided tours are offered Tuesday - Thursday, September 11th - November 21st; November 27th - December 20th;
January 8th - May 22nd, 2008. Tour reservations require a $25.00 check deposit. This will be refunded upon arrival
for the tour. Should a group not arrive for their tour without a minimum 7-day cancellation, the $25.00 will be forfeited.
Both docent guided and self guided tours are offered free of charge to students under age 16.
Chaperones are free under these conditions:
One chaperone is free for every five students in grades 1-10. One chaperone is free
for every
ten students in grades 11- 12. Extra adults pay $8 each.
Self Guided Tours
You can guide your class through the museum on your own from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Mondays and Fridays, and from 12:00 noon to 4:00pm
Tuesday through Thursday. These tours do require a reservation if they include more than 10 students.
Film
A 20-minute film, PRESIDENT, is regularly shown in the museum theatres. The film, narrated by Cliff Robertson, explores the
development of the 20th century presidency. Recommended for students 4th grade and above.

Grades K-1: Scavenger Hunt - Students will have fun exploring the museum with a docent using
clues to find presidential images and objects.

Southwest Alaska: A World of National Parks and Wildlife Refuges, Photographs of Robert Glenn Ketchum

Images by renowned photographer Robert Glenn Ketchum capture the natural beauty of Southwest Alaska, home to three national wildlife
refuges, two national parks, and the largest state park in the U.S. This region of Alaska is protected by one of the most significant
pieces of conservation legislation passed during the Carter Administration - the Alaska National Interest Lands Conservation Act. The
exhibition will mark an anniversary of the passage of this legislation in December 1980.
